Hey everyone, I know its been a while since I last updated an actual status journal, but I've kind of ran into some trouble within the last few days. It started off with my ball joints on my car finally stopping the creaking and squealing every time I hit a bump or turned the wheels. I kind of knew something was up since I hadn't sprayed them down with the stuff to quieten them down. (The whole reason they've been doing that in the first place is because the rubber boot that goes onto them was all deteriorated away so all the grease inside of the housing was gone.) Anyways, Tuesday when I was at my parents, I told my mom that something didn't seem right cause my steering was getting harder to turn, they pretty much stopped making any noises, and every time I would take a turn on the road(no matter what road I was on) it would be difficult to turn the direction I needed to go. Instead it would try to keep me going straight and not turn at all. So after I had finished helping her out and headed home, I noticed it was even more difficult to turn the steering. I managed to get home safely, but was driving under 40mph since I was getting paranoid about it doing that. Then yesterday, my sister calls me up and tells me that my mom needs some more help and couldn't wait til after it rained for me to come back, so I told them I'd be right over after I loaded up some stuff into my car. Soon as I drove over the lip of our driveway and into the road of the cul-de-sac, I heard this loud pop almost like my tire either blew up or fell off and the driver side fell about a few inches. After getting out of the car to check to see what it really was, I noticed that it was my driver side ball joint that had snapped, leaving the tire hanging off the control arm, which allows it to turn by the way. My insurance paid a majority of the towing, but I still had to shell out 15 bucks, which my insurance company gave back to me in a check that I can't cash at a walmart like any other check, so I don't know how I'm gonna cash that. And if money wasn't already gonna be tight this week, we've got rent and the insurance premium that has to come out tomorrow, so our kitchen is gonna be bare. ~_~; I'm planning on selling our old bed frame that we've not used in the past couple of years, but I don't even know how much I should even be asking for it. Its a nice queen cherry red wood frame, but since we've moved so much its got a few chips and scratches on it, and the headboard actually has a small crack from when my sister tried to back the truck with it on it into the car port. Nothing serious, and it's not cracking any further. We paid about $1200 for it back in 2009, so would me asking about $300 for it be too much? Or would maybe $225 be better? I don't want to go too low since we paid over $1000 for it. I'm also selling a Homelite 13" Electric String Trimmer/Edger as well,
[link], thinking $20 for it, but it won't include string for it since I can't find it anywhere in stock near me. Closest I've found the string was in Chattanooga, and I'm not driving all that way just for some string. Anyways, I'll be posting these up on my craigslist account soon. In the meantime, if anyone wishes to help me out, I'll be happy to do some commissions for you all. I don't really like asking for money but right now my car is my only way to a job if I do get one and its currently in the shop being repaired. When we do pay to get it out, all our money will be gone to rent and its insurance, so as you can see my situation here, that's why I'm selling stuff and offering up to do more commissions for actual cash. Well I don't know what else to say right now, other than I'm still waiting on them to call me and give me a status update on my car, so I guess I'll say see you all later and thanks for reading. n_n;
